Poet, musician and singer, Orpheus was a Greek God who played his lyre with extreme skill, to the point of enchanting the most insensitive beings with its chords, calming men and warding off the dangers of the seas and forests. Orpheus fell in love with Eurydice, a woman of unparalleled beauty who, in turn, aroused the interest of another man, Aristeus. Aristeus tried to seduce her, but when Eurydice refused his feelings, he pursued her, until she fell, was bitten by a snake and, under the effect of the poison, died. In despair, Orpheus went to the underworld with his lyre to try and rescue his beloved. Before the god of the underworld, Hades agrees to grant the musician's request, but on one condition: Eurydice can leave, but he must only look at her once they are in the sunlight. During the journey back to the world of the living, Orpheus didn't hold back and, to make sure that Eurydice was following him, he turned around and looked back. The love story of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the oldest and most moving in Western culture, as Orpheus loses his beloved forever for not waiting a little longer.

Poeta, músico e cantor, Orpheu era um Deus grego que tocava a sua lira com extrema habilidade, a ponto de encantar com seus acordes os mais insensíveis seres, acalmar os Homens e afastar os perigos dos mares e das florestas. Orfeu apaixonou-se por Eurídice, mulher de uma beleza inigualável que, por sua vez despertou o interesse de um outro homem, Aristeu. Aristeu tentou seduzi-la, mas quando Eurídice recusou os seus sentimentos, ele perseguiu-a, até que esta cai, é picada por uma serpente e, sob o efeito do veneno, morre. Orfeu, desesperado, foi até o mundo dos mortos com sua lira tentar resgatar a sua amada. Perante o deus do submundo, Hades concorda atender o pedido do músico, mas com uma condição: Eurídice pode sair, mas ele só deve olhar para ela assim que estiverem à luz do sol. Durante a trilha de volta ao mundo dos vivos, Orpheu não se conteve e, para se certificar de que Eurídice o seguia, vira-se e olha para trás. A história de amor de Orpheu e Eurídice é uma das mais antigas e comoventes da cultura ocidental, uma vez que Orpheu perde a sua amada para sempre por não ter esperado um pouco mais.

The typography used in the logo was imagined, thought up and built from scratch especially for this brand and, because it was inspired by the snake's physical features, each letter shows the curves of its body and the sharp points of its teeth. We also went for the Bold style in order to emphasise the characteristics of our strong, corporeal and different coffee. This, combined with the irreplaceable quality and tradition, distinguishes the "Orpheu - Café de Grão" brand in the competitive coffee market.

A tipografia utilizada no logótipo foi imaginada, pensada e construída de raiz, especialmente para esta marca e, porque foi inspirada nos traços físicos da cobra, cada letra apresenta curvas do seu corpo e pontas afiadas dos seus dentes. Fomos buscar também o estilo Bold de forma a evidenciar as características do nosso café forte, corpóreo e diferente dos demais. Isto, aliado à insubstituível qualidade e tradição distingue a marca “Orpheu - Café de Grão” no competitivo mercado do café.

As the myth reveals, “Orpheus - Coffee Bean”, like the God Orpheus, has the ability to enchant, calm and energize all those who seek it.
